Retrieving Full Detail information for an entry in the Campus Directory

The purpose for using this tag is to help prevent the need for manually maintaining the information if you need to display it somewhere on your site. If you use this tag, the content will be updated on your web site, automatically, as the information is updated on Banner! Currently, this feature is fairly limited so if you have additional requests please email .

To display the Full Details from the Campus Directory entry, you would type (for example):

##directory:ITS##

Visitors to the page on which you typed ##directory:ITS## would see the following results:

	Department:	Administrative Departments
	Location:	Pioneer 106  (map)
	Contact:
	Web:	http://its.cocc.edu
	Phone:	(541) 383-7400
	Fax:	(541) 383-7535

You can get the needed directory ID to include by finding the entry in the directory and looking at the URL for the details on that entry. The 'v' parameter is the value you need. For example, the above example for the ITS Department uses an ID of 'ITS', which was taken from the directory details URL for the ITS department which is http://directory.cocc.edu/?t=det&v=ITS.

At this point the Directory Details tag does not include the actual entry's name as a heading since it is so far expected that where this tag is used will likely want to customize any heading for the name for the person/department.

Retrieving Individual Attributes for an entry in the Campus Directory

If you want to retrieve the directory entry name or any other field individually you can add one of the following attribute tags to your directory tag as follows.

NOTE: Not all directory entries have values for all fields as you can see above for the ITS department. It doesn't have a First, Last, or Title attribute.

Including Department Members from Campus Directory

If you want to retrieve a list of members in a certain department for display on your web page use one of the following. The department ID included is the same as what is discussed in the above sections.

For different lists with different members the following tags are available.
  faculty - for all Faculty in the department
  nonfaculty - for all Staff members other than faculty
  people - for all people in the department
  departments - for all departments/service entries listed in the directory under the supplied department
  members - for a full list including all of the previous (all people and departments)

Example Usage:

To display all people in the ITS department you would include the following in the correct position on your page.
