What are the # # doing on my page?
COCC has created some custom web page content features which often appear on a page surrounded by a pair of # characters.
One specific example is shown below for including employee data information automatically from COCC's Banner system. Another common example is Campus Directory information.
If you go to edit your home page and you see a bunch of pound signs (##) like the following:
##empldata##
##emplname## ##empldept##
|
| Department: ##empldept## |
Program: ##emplsubdept## |
Telephone: ##emplphone##
|
Extension: ##emplext## |
| FAX: ##emplfax## |
Email: ##emplemail##
|
OFFICE: ##emploffice##
| Don't be concerned. All of these pound signs are telling the Community to get its content from information that is stored in Banner.
You can add information to your pages that have pound signs (##) by simply leaving all of the pound sign content alone, and adding additional information to the page.
