What is a Bookmark: A named location on a Web page that can be the target of a hyperlink. Bookmarks allow authors to link to a specific section of a target page. In a URL, a bookmark is preceded by the pound sign (#). Also called anchor.
To create a bookmark you use the same Link dialog as used above, but instead of using the Hyperlink tab you use the Anchor tab. Unfortunately, when the bookmark is created you will not be able to see it like you can for links since the editor does not underline or otherwise mark bookmarks.
Once created a bookmark can be used by linking to the page with the bookmark and including a pound symbol (#) at the end of the web page address followed by the name of the bookmark that you would like to go to on the destination web page. More information about how anchor tags function is available here.
