An attachment is a file that can be created in any program, such as Microsoft Word or Excel, a .wav file, or an image. When a posted message contains an attachment, Outlook Web Access displays a paper clip symbol beside it in the folder display.
When you open the posted message, you will see the name of the attachment file in the heading information, Some attachments, such as .txt and .gif files, can be opened directly by the Web browser.
Warning for security reasons, you should not open an attachment unless you are sure about the content and the person who sent it to you. Attachments are a very common method for spreading computer viruses.
To view an attachment, double-click the attachment file name, located in the posted message heading information. The attachment will open in a new browser window.
