In order to use COCC's directory to resolve email addresses with an IMAP or similar mail client configuration, LDAP can be used.

Configuring Outlook Express 6 for LDAP (first time set up)
- Open Outlook Express.
- Click 'Tools' from the menu at the top of the screen, then click 'Accounts'
- Click the 'Add' button to the right then click 'Directory Service'.
- In the "Internet directory (LDAP) server" box, type "ldap.ad.cocc.edu".
- Check the "My LDAP server requires me to log on" option ON.
- Press Next.
- In the "Account name" box type "ad\username", where "username" is your email/network login name.
* The "ad\" before your username is required for LDAP to function properly.
- In the "Password" box type your email/network password. (Click for username password help...)
- Click Next.
* Leave the "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)" option OFF.
- When asked, "Do you want to check addresses using this directory service?", select "Yes".
- Click Next.
- Click Finish.
- In the Internet Accounts dialog, click the Directory Service tab.
- Select the "ldap.ad.cocc.edu" account and press the Properties button.
- Select the Advanced tab.
- In the "Directory service (LDAP)" field type "3268".
- In the "Search base" field type "NULL". (upper case)
Click here to verify your General tab settings and here for your Advanced tab settings.
- Click OK and then press Close in the Internet Accounts dialog.
Done! You should now be able to resolve email recipient names against the COCC address book.
